Who is this course for?
This course is for adults aged 19+ who are not in employment and not currently seeking work.
This course is for adults who want to:
• Improve their digital wellbeing
• Understand how online platforms influence attention and mood
• Gain confidence in managing their screen time
• Feel more in control of their online experience
Entry Requirements
No previous digital skills are required. The session is designed for all levels, and all activities can be completed verbally.
What You Will Learn
The session will cover:
• How social media algorithms work in simple, accessible terms
• Why certain content appears on a person’s feed
• How online content influences mood, thoughts and confidence
• The link between attention, scrolling behaviour and wellbeing
• Practical tools to help manage screen time
• Strategies for creating a healthier, more intentional online experience
• Reflection on individual habits.
How You Will Learn
Learning will take place through guided tutor demonstrations, hands-on exploration, mindful exercises, group discussion, and reflective activities. Learners will take photos indoors or outdoors (depending on the venue), experiment with angles and composition, and share their images with the group
What You Will Need to Bring
A smartphone, pen and paper if choosing to write reflections.
